I am a Senior Research Associate at the Department of Intelligent Systems of the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) and an Assistant Professor at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School, both in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
I work in Evolutionary Computation, where I mostly focus on visualizing and benchmarking the results of evolutionary algorithms for both singleobjective and multiobjective optimization, with and without constraints, and applying these methods to solve real-world optimization problems.
Previous Positions
- January 2018–May 2023: Research Associate at JSI
- August 2016–December 2017: Postdoctoral Researcher at JSI
- August 2015–July 2016: Postdoctoral Researcher in the DOLPHIN team at INRIA Lille–Nord Europe, France
- November 2014–July 2015: Postdoctoral Researcher at JSI

Formal Education
I earned a B.Sc. degree in Applied Mathematics from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana in 2002.
At the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, I obtained an M.Sc. in Computer Science in 2007. In my thesis, Design of an Algorithm for Multiobjective Optimization with Differential Evolution, I proposed the DEMO algorithm.
For my doctoral studies, I attended the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School, where I earned a Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technologies in 2014. My dissertation, Visualizing Solution Sets in Multiobjective Optimization, introduced the prosection method to visualize higher-dimensional solution sets.
