New H2020 project COVIRNA
The Department of Intelligent Systems at Jožef Stefan Institute is starting a new H2020 project this month. The COVIRNA project will develop a diagnostic test to predict the outcomes of COVID-19 patients with cardiovascular comorbidities. The test will primarily be based on noncoding RNA biomarkers measured with an already validated panel developed by an industrial partner. Data will be collected from multiple existing cohorts of COVID-19 patients, and the department will be involved in developing machine-learning models for the outcome prediction. The final test will be CE-marked and ready for commercialisation.
