John Kubiatowicz

aka: KUBI

Howdy! I am one of the chief architects of the Alewife machine and also the primary implementor of the Alewife Communications and Memory Management Unit (CMMU). Please take a look at my baby (the Alewife CMMU). We have had an operational 32-node machine since 1994. See some of our photos for different machine configurations HERE.

My interests include hardware, operating-systems, and compiler issues for massively-parallel multiprocessing (obviously). Also, I am somewhat of a closet physicist with an interest in high-energy physics. Further, I am intrigued with Artificial Life; who knows where this may go?

A brief list of my publications and Master's and Doctoral theses can be found HERE.

From the above, I guess you could conclude that I am a former member of the Alewife project in the Computer Architecture Group (CAG). However, that was in a past life. At the moment, I am an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Division of the University of California at Berkeley. You can visit my homepage HERE.
