Who is starquake?

For some I'm their child, for others a brother, for my friends I'm at times a very funny and interesting character, but at times a plain nuisance. I'm a proud father of my daughter Saga (2 yrs.). She's the central sun of my existence, really.

"Twinkle, twinkle, little star. Now we know just what you are. Nuclear furnace in the sky, You'll burn to ashes, by and by."*

I love classical music, The Grateful Dead, fractal art, italian and japanese food and am a keen lover of fruits.
I'm learning to play Japanese boardgame Go and Rubik's cube(Java!) is in frequent use too. I love smoking a pipe, (although I smoke cigarettes most of the time), reading books, novels, poetry, fiction..almost anything at all. I like to be in touch with the surrounding world in such degree, that I'm almost a news junkie : )
Swimming, walking and bicycling are my favorite outdoors past-times. (whenever I get the inspiration..)

"But tick, tick, tick, pulsating star, Now we wonder what you are. Magneto-nuclear-plasma ball, You're making monkeys of us all."*

I wish I had the opportunity to travel around the globe more often and see things unseen and meet friends never met before.
In my adolescent years I had the good opportunity to travel in Europe extensively with my family, of which I'm ever grateful. I'm from Finland and was born in Helsinki, but I moved to Oulu last year.

From early childhood I've been curious about spiritual things in general, and I've found much beauty and wisdom especially in Tibetan Buddhist psychology, Greek Orthodox and Celtic Christianity and teachings of St John of Cross. Modern scientific view of the universe we live in is also something I love to study. Japanese Zen poet Ryokan and teachings of Aro gTér have been a part of my life. Perhaps the biggest influence comes after all from the Hare Krishna's, when I lived in their community in my early 20's for about 4 years.

"That's how these things behave. They're very quiet for long periods of time then all of a sudden they'll just go nuts," said Woods, who is also a graduate student in astrophysics at the University of Alabama at Huntsville."*

My greatest thanks for all the love and support during my life goes to: My mother(Panda),my sister Nina & Gil (Bro), Päivi & Saga, Marpa & co. , Lena. E, Elba, Mimosa, Jaz and countless other beings who have benefitted everyone and everything everywhere.
