I let my gaze wander around the airport, scanning the crowd for a familiar face. I turned to my friend, Sue, who was also waiting with me. She smiled, looking very excited at seeing Ben again. Finally I spotted my brother and I waved to him. He smiled, and whispered something to the good looking blonde guy beside him. I blushed as the blonde guy smiled.
Pushing their way through the crowd, who seemed to recognise them, they made their way over to the reserved space. I hugged my brother.
"Wow, it's good to have you back! I saw you on Top Of The Pops the other day. Very good!"
Ben hugged me back, then turned and hugged Sue.
"Looking as beautiful as ever." he said to Sue, who in turn blushed. As well as being my friend she was my brother's girlfriend. I turned to the blonde guy. Ben noticed my gaze and stopped kissing Sue long enough to introduce us, his arms still around Sue.
"Jasmine, this is my friend and fellow band member, Christian. Christian, my sister Jasmine."
Christian shook my hand with a warm smile and I felt the colour rising up to my face. Ben raised an eyebrow. Finally he turned to someone else who was making their way through the crowd with three suitcases.
"And this here is Paul."
Paul dumped the suitcases at Ben's feet.
"Gee, how long are we going to stay here for, Paul, the whole year?"
"Where's Mark?" I asked. In response, I felt a strong pair of arms take hold of me and swing me through the air. I giggled, giddy with delight.
"Heya, sis." he said after kissing me on the cheek. I laughed.
"Heya, Mark."
Though we weren't really related, we were as close as brother and sister. We had been friends for about three years now. We were even closer than me and Ben and that was saying something, since I was usually first priority than him. I noticed a bag in his hand.
"What's that?"
"A gift for you, me lady." he said, handing it to me.
"Oh, stop teasing! You're embarrassing me!"
This produced a ripple of laughter from everyone. I opened the bag and pulled out a small box. I paused, examining it. It looked like a jewellery box.
"Well, quit the suspense and open it!" Ben urged. I opened it and two rubys, and I somehow knew they were real, peered back at me, making up the two eyes of a gold wolf. On it's chest a diamond shimmered. I was gobsmacked. I looked up at Mark, my mouth gaping. He took it from me and put it on. I fingered it for a while, tears being drawn to me eyes.
"It...must have cost you a fortune!"
"Only the best for my little sister!"
I hugged him.
"Thankyou so much!"
"No prob."
There was a murmur from the crowd and I looked over just in time to see Ben drop to the ground. Sue was down beside him instantly.
"Help! He's fainted!
