| Missing You |
Oh troubadour,
by earth and fire,
herald me your
lamenting reeds
in ballads Gael,
or more to truth
a slow lilting air
to bridge the ocean
distance of destiny
too far apart.
In my backyard
‘tis a stilly night.
Blue moon shadows
cast heartache hues
on a vacant bench.
Bright stars shine,
glistening diamonds,
the celestial jewels
of my lover’s eyes.
Birds and flowers
sleep, yet I can’t.
Nests, urns and pots,
habitats of fate
embrace them.
I am lost in myself,
pain chasm deep,
drunk on lilac wine,
the cruel distillation
of missing you.
