And anyway, the only reason why it seems to sick to us is because it's not something we're exposed to as much. Indians think that eating cows is sick, but most Americans eat or have eaten sausages.

As for the smoking and drinking - that's not unique to France. It's like that in pretty much all of Europe, it's a cultural custom there. And again, Americans aren't in a position to speak because Americans smoke more pot and crack and weed than any other nation in the world.
