Price-list for the electronic publishing of Comprehensive
Summaries, and the posting of all types of theses.
Posting (spikning)
Basic services
- Alternative 1
The doctoral student hands in the posting
information (correctly formatted) in the electronic Posting
Template at least five work-days before posting date to the
Electronic Publishing Centre.
- Alternative 2
The doctoral student enters the posting
information into an electronic form available at different posting
stations at UUL (see a list of posting stations here: http://publications.uu.se/forauthors/index.xsql?lang=en).
There is also the alternative to do this directly at the time of
posting on a designated computer at the posting site.
Additional services
Assistance with the electronic posting because:
- The doctoral student hasn’t used the Posting Template and is
delivering all the information, including the abstract text, in a
file or an e-mail message.
- The doctoral student hasn’t used the Posting Template and is
delivering all the information, excluding the abstract text, in a
file or an e-mail message. The abstract text has to be entered by
the Electronic Publishing Centre from a paper original.

Electronic publishing of the summary
Basic services
- Alternative 1
The doctoral student delivers the summary,
correctly formatted, in the designed template. Correctly formatted
means that the formatting guidelines (which can be found at: http://publications.uu.se/forauthors/guidelines/summary.pdf
and http://publications.uu.se/forauthors/guidelines/imageedit.pdf
have been applied, and that the Paragraph Formats in the template
have been used correctly. The Summary must be delivered to the
Electronic Publishing Centre no later than 1 week before printing.
The Electronic Publishing Centre will produce a print original,
and a version adjusted for electronic publication, including title
page and standard cover, using the delivered file.
- Alternative 2
The doctoral student delivers the summary as
a print-worthy PDF file, identical with the one used for the
printing of the finished thesis. (Further instructions are
available at http://publications.uu.se/forauthors/index.xsql?lang=en.)
The summary must be delivered to the Electronic Publishing Centre
at the same time it is delivered to the printers. The Electronic
Publishing Centre will produce a version adjusted for electronic
publication, including title page and standard cover, using the
delivered file.
Both these alternatives include an opportunity for the doctoral
student to proof-read the summary and make one set of corrections at
no additional cost.

Correction of incorrect formatting
- Alternative 1
The doctoral student delivers the summary in
the designed template, but without the correct formatting. The
file has to be corrected before a print-worthy original can be
produced. The doctoral student makes the corrections according to
given instructions and returns a new file.
- Alternative 2
The doctoral student delivers the summary in
the designed template, but without the correct formatting. The
file has to be corrected before a print-worthy original can be
produced. The doctoral student makes the corrections on a
designated computer at the Electronic Publishing Centre according
to given instructions.
- Alternative 3
The doctoral student delivers the summary in
the designed template, but without the correct formatting. The
file has to be corrected by the Electronic Publishing Centre
before a print-worthy original can be produced.
- Alternative 4
The doctoral student does not deliver the
summary in the designed template. The summary has to be entered
into the template by the Electronic Publishing Centre.

Help with the printing of Comprehensive Summaries
- The handling and compilation of summary and appended papers
for printing, printing-office contacts etc: 1800:-. Cover layout:
1200:-. Please note that the cost of the actual printing is added.
Conditional for the price is that the doctoral student has used
one of the existing thesis templates (see download
templates), and that the separate papers are handed in either
as print-worthy PDF files, or as manuscripts written in a
template.
