Shipping Information for TravelGuideWarehouse

Costs

Each item carries its own shipping & handling charge, which ranges from 99? to $8.99.  (Some items, where specially marked, ship FREE.) The total shipping & handling charge for your order will be the sum of individual item charges. However, the MAXIMUM shipping & handling charge for any domestic order* is $8.99.  Once your order's shipping & handling charge has reached this amount, adding additional items will not increase the charge.*

Domestic orders which total $100 or more ship FREE.*

Special Handling Charges

Please note that a small number of unusually large items may have special shipping & handling surcharges and special shipping arrangements. These extra shipping & handling surcharges are included in the item price, and are always clearly specified in the listing.

Distribution

• Most books are shipped via UPS Ground Service.  Therefore, if you are ordering a guidebook, please use a street address (not a PO box) if possible.  If you must have delivery to a box, let us know at service2@travelguidewarehouse.com so that we can make special arrangements (this may create some delay in arrival of your order).  UPS deliveries to HI, AK, and PR may may incur additional shipping charges and additional shipping time. You will be contacted via email before any additional charges are taken.

• Most maps are shipped via USPS 1st Class or Priority Mail.
  
  In most cases orders of 3 or more maps will be shipped Priority Mail. Maps which are sent UPS are excluded and backorder maps shipped subsequent to the first order shipment may be excluded.

• If you order a mix of these items, PLEASE NOTE that they will arrive separately.  UPS Ground generally takes about 4-5 business days, depending on your location.  U.S. Priority Mail generally takes 1-2 business days, and First Class Mail generally takes 3-7 business days. (Remember that weekends and postal holidays are not counted). If the UPS portion of your order arrives first, PLEASE NOTE that the packing slip will not include information about the rest of your order. 

Arrival Time

• Items marked as "Direct" are sent directly from our supplier to you, and will generally ship within 1-2 business days of ordering. Typically these items will arrive within 3-7 business days via UPS Ground Service.  (Remember that weekends and UPS holidays are not counted).

• Items marked as "In Stock" are usually in stock and will generally ship within 1-2 business days of the order date. Typically these items will arrive within 3-7 business days via US Mail.  (Remember that weekends and postal holidays are not counted).

• Items marked as "Available" can in most cases be readily obtained from our supplier, and will generally ship within 5-15 business days of ordering. Typically these items will arrive within 1-3 weeks via US Mail.  (Remember that weekends and postal holidays are not counted). In the event that the supplier has a shortage and an unusual delay is anticipated, we will notify you by email to see what you want to do. 

• Items are marked as "BACKORDERED" or "TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK" when they are out of stock at our suppliers, but more are on order.  If no "Expected After" date is shown, you should assume that it will be 2-4 weeks before the item is available, though of course it may be less or more for a particular item.  If an item does not become available within four weeks, we will contact you via email to see if you wish to cancel the item or continue to wait.

• While we try to keep stock information on these pages up to date, demand can be unpredictable and availability of a particular item can change without notice.   You should always allow an outside range of up to 4 weeks for an order to arrive, though in most cases it will arrive much sooner. 
  
  If you must have your books or maps by a certain date -- like before you leave for your destination! -- it's a good idea to send a separate email to service2@travelguidewarehouse.com, and we'll let you know if we can meet your deadline, as well as any additional costs that may be required.
  
  But please be specific!  Notes like "Please rush!" or "Ship ASAP!" are not very helpful, because our standard practice is to ship every order "as soon as possible."   If you have a deadline, let us know what exactly what it is.   Tell us what your last possible date is for receiving a package via US Mail or UPS.  Remember that US Mail does not deliver on Sundays or holidays and UPS does not deliver on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.

• PLEASE BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR ORDER NUMBER IN THE SUBJECT LINE.

Orders Outside the Continental 48 States

* Orders to HI, AK, PR, and outside the U.S. (including military post office boxes) may incur additional shipping charges and/or additional shipping time. You will be contacted via email for approval of any additional charges before your order ships.

International Orders

We no longer ship orders outside the United States, except to US Military POBs.
