Help out the Greyhounds, if you can't adopt, then please "donate". These dogs very survival may depend on "YOU" and others like you. There are many support groups and agencies across the U.S., abroad and in our home state of Michigan that DO NOT have websites. GreytHounds of Eastern Michigan - GreytHounds of Eastern MI, or GEM is a non-profit volunteer organization aimed at educating the public and raising awareness about the Greyhound. This website is jam packed with information and some great shots of these loving dogs. Learn all about these dogs and how to adopt one.
Greyhound Gang Adoption - The Greyhound Gang is an all volunteer, non-profit, tax-exempt organization. All donations go directly to the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of ex-racing greyhounds. This site has some of the cutest graphics through out the site, as I have not seen them anywhere else I can only assume there is an artist in the group. A really nice well put together site with lots of information.
Greyhounds Galore - This site hails from Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, Scotland and has a multitude of Greyhound history. If there is anything you want to know about this breed, the Greyhound, this is the place to go.
Greyhound Protection League - The Greyhound Protection League (GPL) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to protecting greyhounds from the exploitation and abuses inherent in the greyhound racing industry. This site is straight forward, even blunt but certainly puts the message out.
GreyHeart Greyhound Rescue - We are a registered, non-profit organization. We are completely independent and supported through donations and fund raising efforts. We are not affiliated with any race track or racing organization and do not condone the greyhound racing industry. this is a nice site with ado[ption information and online adoption forms and Greyhound information.
Michigan Greyhound Connection - The Michigan Greyhound Connection, Michigan's original greyhound rescue group. Established in 1989, is a private, non-profit, volunteer-run organization. Michigan Greyhound Connection is committed to finding responsible and loving adoptive homes for retired racing greyhound dogs and educating the public about the inhumane treatment of these dogs by the greyhound racing industry.
Second Chance for Greyhounds - Second Chance for Greyhounds was founded in 1986 by Helen Banks of Bonita Springs, Florida. Helen was one of the first people to organize and rescue ex-racers, inspired when she discovered the reality of what happens to this graceful breed of dog when they no longer "make the grade" at the race track
National Greyhound Adoption Program - This non profit corporation is headquartered in Philadelphia, but most of the Greyhounds come from other areas of the country. Initially all of the Greyhounds first come to the Philadelphia kennel facility. These people will ship your new pet throughout the country via various airlines to the closest affiliated airport near you or they may be picked up at the facility in Philadelphia.
Renewed Life for Greyhounds - The mission staement of this site says it all: "It is our mission to help Greyhounds. We focus on YOU as the adopter, to make sure your adopted greyhound is a perfect fit as a new member of your family. We pride ourselves on quality adoptions not quantity".
USA Defender of Greyhounds - USA Defenders of Greyhounds is one of the oldest and largest rescue organizations in the country, and one of a very few multi-state groups which are totally independent from all aspects of the dog racing industry. Their ultimate goal:"Our ultimate goal is to bring an end to the use, abuse, and senseless destruction of greyhounds bred for racing. There have been many success stories over the past few years, but there is much more work to be done."
Syracuse Area Greyhound Adoption, Inc. - Syracuse Area Greyhound Adoption, Inc. was founded in 1996. SAGA is a nonprofit, volunteer organization dedicated to placing retired racing greyhounds in loving and responsible homes.
Maine Greyhound Placement Service - Maine Greyhound Placement Service (MGPS) is a humane, non-profit organization dedicated to finding loving, responsible homes for retired racing greyhounds that can no longer compete on the racetrack. MGPS is operated by volunteers and depends on fundraising for its operating expenses.
Greyhound Pets Inc. - Welcome to Greyhound Pets Inc. is a section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1985 to find homes for retired racing greyhounds. To date they have placed more than 3,700 of these wonderful greyhounds! Their placement efforts of the greyhounds is restricted to the Washington, Idaho, west Montana, northern Oregon, British Columbia and Alberta areas only.
Greyhounds Unlimited - The greyhound rescue Society of Texas, Inc, DBA Greyhounds unlimited is a non-profit organization committed to finding caring and responsible homes for retired racing greyhounds and rescued greyhounds. The site is full of information on Greyhounds and this organization.
Greyhound Options, Inc. - Greyhound Options Inc. is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation dedicated to the responsible placement of retired racing greyhounds. They are based in Western MA with active placement representatives from Enfield, CT to Easthampton, MA and from Westfield, MA to Ware, MA.
Personalized Greyhounds, Inc. - Personalized Greyhounds, Inc. is a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation providing Greyhound adoption services in the Harrisburg and surrounding areas.The staff is all volunteers, dedicated to finding loving, qualified homes for former racing Greyhounds, and educating the public about these wonderful dogs.

Ohio Greyhound Placement, Inc. - Ohio Greyhound Placement, Inc. is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to placing retired racers in qualified homes. Our purpose is not simply to place greyhounds in homes, but to ensure a successful and happy adoption for both the dog and the family.

New Jersey Greyhound Adoption Program, Inc. - NJ GAP is a volunteer, non profit, organization which is recognized by the New Jersey State Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program. We are nationally networked and operate from a "Virtual Office". The group has over twenty years of greyhound experience and places ten to fifteen greyhounds per month. Prior to adoption all greyhounds are: Personality Profiled, Spayed/Neutered, Completely Inoculated, Veterinarian Checked and Groomed.
Greyhound Companions of Missouri - Greyhound Companions of Missouri is a St. Louis-based adoption program created for the betterment of the dogs. They are dedicated to the rescue and adoption of the ex-racing greyhound. They have been placing pets in loving homes since 1994 and believe that there is so much more to do. If you are considering adding a dog to your family, this might be the place for you if they are in your area.
Adopt a Greyhound Atlanta, Inc. - ADOPT A GREYHOUND ATLANTA, INC. is a NOT for profit organization, it is committed to providing for the welfare of greyhounds by maintaining a shelter for retired racers, rescued greyhounds or other sighthounds in need of shelter, providing for the care, feeding and medical treatment of rescued dogs and to educate the public on the issues of greyhound racing through lectures, public appearances, participation in community events and any and all other appropriate means.
Colorado Greyhound Adoption - CGA is a non-profit organization (501c3) devoted to placement and adoption of greyhounds. Foster programs are also available. They are based in the metropolitan Denver area, and are manned by volunteers which are growing in number.
Colorado Greyhound Companions - Greyhounds accepted into our program are carefully screened for temperament and health. Our greyhounds are bathed and groomed, given a complete veterinary check-up, including a fecal check, all inoculations, dental care and are spayed or neutered prior to placement. CGC greyhounds are kept in foster care homes while awaiting adoption. Our greyhounds are placed with an identification tag, a care instruction booklet and an adoption certificate. Adopters also receive a "Premier" collar and matching lead in their choice of color.
Lake Erie Greyhound Rescue - LEGR's main purposes are to promote and facilitate adoption of Greyhounds when their racing careers end, and to educate the public about Greyhounds and what wonderful companions they are. Prior to adoption, all of the dogs are spayed or neutered, bathed with a flea shampoo, wormed, heartworm tested, vaccinated, tested (and treated when necessary) for tick-borne diseases, microchipped, and have their teeth cleaned. Between the track and their new homes, when possible, they live in foster homes where foster ``parents" help them learn the facts of home life and become familiar with the personality of each dog.
National Greyhound Foundation - the National Greyhound Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)3 Christian Retirement, Adoption and Educational Sanctuary for Retired Racing Greyhounds. On the opening page of their site it reads: "We RESCUE Greyhounds, We provide FOOD and SHELTER for Greyhounds, We ADOPT Greyhounds, We provide MEDICAL CARE for Greyhounds, We REHABILITATE Greyhounds, We LOVE Greyhounds.
REGAP - Rescued Greyhounds - Michigan REGAP is dedicated to educating the public about the plight of racing Greyhounds, their suitability as companion animals, and finding permanent homes for those lucky enough to enter the rescue community. We openly and adamantly oppose Greyhound racing.
