TVShowsOnDVD.com has reported an update on the Complete Season 6 DVD set. It is now scheduled for release on August 16. Recent FOX Home Video promotional inserts had been mentioning a June release date for the set, but it has been pushed back. This new date does appear to be the final release date, however. We will post an update when cover art and details on bonus materials are revealed.

Tomorrow (Saturday, May 7) is the 4th annual Free Comic Book Day, a nationwide promotion at comic shops. There is no purchase required; just go into a participating shop and ask for your free books! You can visit the official website to locate the nearest participating store by you. There will be, of course, a free book from Bongo Comics featuring our favorite family. Mmmm, free...

SCS staffer Michael Crawford reports that McFarlane has announced the titles for their initial Simpsons lineup: Ironic Punishment and Family Couch Gag. 'Ironic Punishment', as you remember from the THOH III set in the WoS line is Hell as seen in a THOH segment. The specific couch gag being used for the other set is not yet known. These two multi-figure boxed sets will be the launch of the line for McFarlane. If this is successful, the line will branch out more in 2006.
Amazon.com has revealed the cover art for the Simpsons 2006 Fun Calendar, featuring Simpsons characters jumping the Springfield Gorge. It is due out from HarperEntertainment in June. They also have listings/cover art up for the Mini-Calendar and the Trivial Simpsons 365-Day Box Calendar. Thanks to gusbanks and Simpsons Channel for the heads up.

Amazon.com's European site has shown the cover art for the next Simpsons guide book, which is due out at the end of October. 'The Simpsons One Step Beyond Forever : A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family...Continued Yet Again' is the fourth set in the "Complete Guide To Our Favorite Family" book series, following up on A Complete Guide To Our Favorite Family, The Simpsons Forever!, and The Simpsons Beyond Forever!. This edition covers Seasons 13 and 14. Thanks to gusbanks for the heads up.
One item we featured in our Toy Fair coverage was Kidz Kraze's large inflatable Duff beer can. It is a little over 3 feet tall and a little less than 2 feet in circumference when inflated. SCS VIP "JGP Toys" writes in to tell us that he is offering this item for sale. He has no longer has an online store, but asks collectors to contact him by email if they are interested. He is asking $22, including Priority Mail shipping. He also sent this image for scale comparison. Mmmm, Duff.
