"Dead Man's Chest" Comes Alive in 2006
The sequels to "The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" are slated for release in the summers of 2006 and 2007, Dark Horizons reports. In addition, the second film in the series will be subtitled "Dead Man's Chest;" the plot involves Johnny Depp's character, Jack Sparrow, working to repay a debt to Davey Jones, legendary ruler of the sea. A "Pirates'" Life for Skarsgard and Harris
Stellan Skarsgard and Naomie Harris are joining the cast of the next two "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The sequels will include Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley, the stars of the first film, with direction by Gore Verbinski and production by Jerry Bruckheimer. The second "Pirates" movie is scheduled for release in the summer of 2006. more...

Stellan Skarsgard Boards "Pirates of the Caribbean"
Stellan Skarsgard has joined Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightley in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels, according to Comingsoon.net. Their source, the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, says the actor will begin work in February and will finish by December. As for what role he'll be playing, Skarsgard is quoted saying, "I'm playing the old pirate 'Bootstraps' Turner... it should be fun, I enjoyed the first one." 'Bootstraps' Turner is Orlando Bloom's character's father in the first movie. Chow Yun-Fat to be a Pirate
The Associated Foreign Press brings word that Chow Yun-Fat ("A Better Tomorrow") has been approached by the producer and director to play the famous 15th century Chinese pirate Cheung Po Tsai for the next two sequels to "Pirates of the Caribbean."^^BREAK^^ The original movie followed the adventures of a disgraced pirate, played by Johnny Depp, as he tried to get back his stolen ship with the help of two landlubbers, played by Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley. The Rolling Stone's guitarist Keith Richards will reportedly play Depp's character's father in the followup. The movie is shooting for a 2006 release. more...
