New Layout and Site Coming Soon to BritneySpy.com
In the next month or so, we will be putting online a completely new
layout! It's not completed yet but it looks amazing so far!
Aswell as a new layout, there will also be some other improved parts
of the site. The updates will be styled differently, and there
will be a members only requirement for posting comments. The
site will also load a lot faster than it does. I'll be totally
updating the subsections too, and adding tons of new content.
The layout and concept will be totally different from any other
Britney Spears fansite online, so I hope you'll like the changes
that will occur over the next few weeks! The layout will
hopefully be online before April 2005, and I think it will
drastically improve the site! Stay tuned...

Spears' New Fragrance: Curious
This Autumn, Britney will release her first fragrance, which she
has chosen to call 'Curious'. The range will consist of
perfume, bottles, tubes for bath and shower. The
fragrance is being released by mega cosmetics company Elizabeth
Arden. The fragrance line will be called "Curious
Britney Spears: Do You Dare?" The perfume will start
selling from the middle of September and Britney will be in New York
on the 14th (reportedly) to give away bottles and meet her fans!

Since March 2004, Britney has been dating her new boyfriend
Kevin Federline. Kevin is a dancer, and he had a
pregnant fiancée (Shar Jackson) and a 2 year old daughter, Kori,
and has now given birth to her second child, Kaleb.
Britney was unaware of this when she met him. We have tons of

Britney Spears is turning the tables on the tabloids.
In
a bid to offer another take on her much-documented love life, the pop
superstar and hubby Kevin Federline will toplinetopline their own
unscripted series on UPN. After fierce competition from several other
outlets, net has snapped up six episodes of the as-yet-untitled skein,
which will document the story of the Spears-Federline courtship,
engagement and wedding.
UPN is wasting no time putting the series together, planning to premiere the skein before the current season ends next month.
"From
the day that Kevin and I met, there have been constant rumors and
inaccurate speculation about our lives together," Spears said. "I feel
that last year the tabloids ran my life and I am really excited about
showing my fans what really happened rather than all the stories, which
have been misconstrued by journalists in the past. As I mentioned
before, I am now going to be expressing my personal life through art."
UPN
Entertainment president Dawn Ostroff said the skein will give Spears
and Federline the chance to "tell their love story their way."
Indeed,
the bulk of the show will consist of video footage shot by Spears and
Federline themselves, with UPN adding in some new commentaries and
follow-up footage.
The Grammy-winning singer and her new husband
will essentially "host" the series, walking viewers through the story
of their relationship. "They'll tell viewers, 'This is when we first
met' or 'This is when we started dating,' " Ostroff said.
Duo
documented their European tour, preparations for their wedding and the
wedding day itself. Skein will consist of five half-hour episodes and
an hourlong finale focusing on the wedding day.
An outside
producer will be brought in to help edit the footage into a series, but
Spears and Federline will take exec producer credits on the finished
product.
In a bit of corporate cooperation between different
parts of the Viacom empire, one of the MTV Music Group Channels -- MTV,
VH1VH1 or both -- will rerun the most recent episode of the skein not
long after UPN's initial broadcast. MTV or VH1 will also air a
five-episode marathon.
"The competition for the show was pretty
heated, and we were able to reach out to MTV Networks and put together
a deal," Ostroff said. MTV will foot part of the deal for its second
window on the skein, which was packaged by ICM.
Ostroff said
Spears "is someone who appeals to (UPN's) audience, the young female
demographic that's been following her career and personal story" for
the last few years.
While Spears and Federline shot most of the skein themselves, Ostroff said the show will not seem like a video press release.
"I
don't think there's anything sugar coated about this," said Ostroff,
who's already seen a significant amount of footage. "It's pretty raw
and pretty real. I don't think (viewers) have ever been exposed to
people being so honest and open about their lives."
Ostroff said
the story of Spears and Federline is so compelling that "even if it
were a fictitious story, it would be interesting. The fact that it's
about one of the biggest stars out there makes it all the more
fascinating."
Federline said the show will speak for itself. "It is a documentation of love," he said.
No
premiere date has been locked in, but Ostroff did say the goal is to
get the show on sometime during the May sweeps. It's likely some
episodes, including the finale, will air after the official May 25 end
of the 2004-05 season.

I
was just watching the Daily Buzz, which is a morning news show on the
WB (Warner Bros.). Well, they said that Britney and Kevin will be
starring in their own newlyweds style show on UPN!!! 6 episodes have
already been shot. No word yet on when they will air though.

in Los Angeles today. Britney who changed outfits three times during
the course of the day seemed to be in a jovial mood and even danced and
ran when getting out of her chauffeur driven SUV along trendy Melrose

| More Info About The Mickey Mouse Club Best Of DVD |
Walt
Disney Co. is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Disneyland this
Summer, and as part of that celebration they are releasing several
DVDs. One of these we've already posted separate news about, The Mickey
Mouse Club - The Best Of. This covers the original 1955 series. But
1977 saw the revival of the show as The New Mickey Mouse Club, though
it didn't last long (despite Mousketeer talent that included The Facts
of Life's Lisa Whelchel). In 1989 they tried again though, with The
All-New Mickey Mouse Club, or "MMC" for short. It was a a success,
natch.
It lasted until 1994, and at the end of the show's run it
featured three of the brightest upcoming stars that would take the pop
world by storm in the years to come: Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake,
and Christina Aguilera. Now, as part of the Disneyland 50th Anniversary
celebration, Buena Vista Home Entertainment is bringing out MMC - The
Best Of Britney, Justin, and Christina. Amazon.com has a pre-order
listing for this, a single-disc offering that comes out on July 12th.
Amazon is selling it for $10.49, based on a $14.99 SRP.
We owe
our gratitude to every reader who wrote in about the Amazon listing.
We've covered everything they told us about the release, but Buena
Vista took it a step further and provided COVER ART as well. It
mentions that there will be "Concert Footage, Hometown Profiles, and
much more!" My, but those three look young on the cover. Running time
is 90 minutes. Stay tuned, and we'll let you know if we find out
anything more.

| Rumour: Britney Goes All Religous On New Album |
The
next album from Britney Spears, which at it's pending title "Original
Doll", will not only decrease the amount of sexual meanings, but will
also encourage a new encounter this time.
Spears says: "Not only
am I a believer in Christ, I think it is time that I should give him a
meaning and not use as much personal life in my songs anymore. I cannot
dance in a cat suit my entire life; I am a legally married woman."
Her
new bonus track, Mona Lisa (which was featured on a popular KISS fm LA
radio station a couple of months ago) has mentioned the word God one
time. Spears reports that she will also have more reports of the word
Christ, Lord, and God in a positive meaning and that she will try not
to let the label leak out anymore 'profane' hits on her next album. But
it is still possible.
"I already said what I had to say with My
Prerogative on my Hits CD. This time it's gonna have a meaning. But no,

Britney
Spears and Kevin Federline spend some quality time with Kevin's
daughter Kori while they stay at a Santa Monica hotel. The couple has
been rumored to have troubles lately but they seem to be trying to work
it out. Also notice Britney's swelling tummy - further evidence that
she's pregnant with her first baby. Also Kevin Federline's parents came
to visit. They took his daughter from Shar Jackson for a shopping trip
and came back with flowers.

| Desperate Housewives Stars Back Britney's Tabloid Attack Too |
Desperate Housewives actresses Marcia Cross and Eva Longoria have supported Britney Spears's complaints about the tabloid media.
While appearing on Access Hollywood, Cross spoke about recent reports suggesting that she is a lesbian.
"I've
learned personally that they can write anything they want," Cross
explained. "It's hard, and the fact that she would say that doesn't
surprise me - it's a hard thing to continually, in your private life,
have to deal with. I don't know how you protect yourself, I really
haven't got any ideas."
Longoria admitted that she would like to start a group effort, against the tabloid media.
"I think we should totally unite and just ban those tabloid magazines," she said.

| Britney Snubbed By Desperate Housewives Makers |
BRITNEY SPEARS has been refused a cameo part in hit TV show DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES - despite begging producers to cast her.
The
TOXIC superstar's request was snubbed because producers fear big name
personalities will detract from the adventures of the show's main
characters.
JAMES DENTON, who plays hunky plumber MIKE DELFINO,
says, "Britney Spears' people have been trying to get her on the show
and I can promise you that will never happen.
"Everyone in Hollywood wants to be a guest star."

is probably true because I saw an interview with the creator of the
show, and he said he didnt't want any "famous" guest stars on the show,
so as to keep the show as "real" as possible to viewers.

| Pamela Anderson: "I Support Britney 100%" |
Pam Anderson is throwing her support behind Britney Spears.
Tired of pregnancy reports, Britney Spears this week lashed out at the tabloid media for apparently making stuff up about her.
Anderson
told Access Hollywood that she could go "sue crazy" on everybody for
misrepresenting or misjudging her character, but she said, "At the end
of the day, hopefully people realize that the tabloids are just awful."
She added that they sell magazines based on negative stories about people, and that no one's going to buy happy stories.
On March 30, Spears wrote an open letter to what she called "False Tabloids."
In
the letter she wrote, "As you read this letter, I bet you are asking
yourself: Who? Who, me? Am I a false tabloid? Well, I don't know. But
after this posting, I hope you are asking yourself a lot of questions.
Your employees are a reflection of your magazine. Do you, Us Weekly, In
Touch, Star and other desperate magazines want employees who are
honest, or those who are liars? It seems to me that you'd prefer the
latter. I'm really concerned about the people you hire to work at your
companies. I'd like them to ask themselves the question, "What am I
lying to myself about?" Is it that you are 50 pounds overweight? Is it
that your children aren't making wise decisions? Or is it maybe that
your husband or boyfriend is cheating on you? Until you face what is
going on in your life, I guess you'll remain a false tabloid."
Spears also wrote that People Magazine is great in her book.
Anderson,
star of Fox's upcoming sitcom "Stacked," said she won't allow any
tabloid magazines in her presence. "I just said, 'Look, I don't want
any of that stuff around me."'

| Rumour: Kevin Got Lap Dances In Vegas...Again |
KEVIN Federline left his rumored-to-be-pregnant wife,
Britney Spears, at her brother's Santa Monica apartment last weekend,
and headed to Las Vegas. While there, the dancer partied with pals at
Pure, in the company of self-described "VIP escort" Vanessa Hulihan, Us
Weekly reports. "At one point, she was sitting on his lap," one onlooker
tells the mag. ". . . he was sliding his hand between her thighs."
Federline and Hulihan "hung out" all weekend, Us says, and he "refused
to answer Britney's phone calls. He's been telling friends he doesn't
want her to have his baby." He added: "If I ever get a divorce, I want
to move to Vegas." Nice.

| Britney Won't Be Staring In The Film "In The Pink" This Year |
Singer and actress Bette Midler has hit out at modern female pop singers, calling them "characterless".
Midler, 59, criticised modern singers for lip-synching on stage.
"It's
a strange time, I don't want to say it's the dark ages for music but
it's not such a great time," she told reporters in Australia.
She said: "It's kind of hard to tell the characters apart." Midler is in Australia for her first tour there for 26 years.
'Im not retiring'
Midler's
latest show features her singing alongside a horn section. She said she
would never lip-synch her way through performances, a charge she has
levelled at younger singers.
"I just can't do that... I guess
because I came up singing and dancing at the same time, to me it's not
so frightening, for a lot of kids it is, for the younger ones it's
scary," she said.
Asked is she was thinking about an end of her performing career, she said: "I'm not retiring, and you can't make me."
Midler also dismissed rumours she was set to appear opposite Britney Spears in a film called In the Pink.
"Oh, that'll never happen," she said, saying the film had not been put into development.
Midler, a cabaret and musical stalwart, has appeared in films such as Beaches and Ruthless People.
