Excellent in Science award

The department is a leading institution in research on the recognition of human activities. Our methods for the recognition of activities with smartphone sensors were recently published in the high-impact Information Fusion journal (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1566253517303421) and took first place at the SHL Challenge competition (http://www.shl-dataset.org/activity-recognition-challenge/). This was recognized by the Slovenian Research Agency through the Excellent in Science award (https://www.arrs.si/sl/dogodki/19/dan-arrs.asp) as the most important scientific achievement of 2018 in the area of computer science in Slovenia.
