BATMAN: Biomolecular Analyzes for Tailored Medicine in Acne iNversa
Short description, main aims and objectives of the project:
The project is aimed at a better understanding of Acne Inversa disease, i.e., hidradenitis suppurativa, which is a chronic skin disease that affects up to 1% of people in Europe. As part of the project, we are developing a platform that will help us create a holistic medical record of patients. It contains medical and genetic data, patient activity data and lifestyle data. A pilot study will be carried out in Austria, Germany and Italy. Afterwards, we will analyze the collected data using artificial intelligence methods. The partners are developing cell models in parallel and exploring the effects of genetic factors on disease expression.
