Third place in the PokerBot Challenge (2010)

Aleš Tavčar and Boštjan Kaluža won the third place in the PokerBot Challenge (2010).

PokerBot Challenge is a competition which combines computer skills and poker. Bot is a computer agent that knows how to play a game against human or computer opponent. When it comes to a poker bot, we are thinking mainly about artificial intelligence, which knows the rules of poker games, can identify received messages from the opponent, and choose the strategy to decide on its next move. Each team write a computer program based on AI methods that is fought on their behalf with the enemy’s PokerBot. In the first Slovenian competition of this kind the JSI team perscitues won the third place.
